Pawn Shop Clue Leads to 6 Arrests After Armed Home Invasion, Texas Investigators Say

#KRITICIZM - A violent home invasion in northern Bexar County, Texas, has resulted in the arrest of six people after investigators say a stolen thermal optic pawned at a local shop helped unravel the case.

According to authorities, the incident occurred on May 7, when three armed individuals allegedly forced their way into a family’s home through the garage. Investigators say the suspects held members of the household at gunpoint during the robbery and struck one victim in the head with a handgun.

The intruders allegedly stole multiple rifles, gaming consoles, footwear, a thermal optic and the family’s truck before fleeing the scene. The stolen vehicle was later recovered nearby, but investigators continued searching for those responsible.

The case reportedly took a major turn when detectives traced the stolen thermal optic to a local pawn shop. Authorities say that discovery led them to identify several individuals believed to be connected to the robbery and obtain search warrants tied to the investigation.

During those searches, investigators claim they uncovered evidence of additional suspected criminal activity beyond the home invasion. According to authorities, officers recovered illegal drugs, stolen firearms and equipment commonly associated with vehicle theft.

As a result of the investigation, Jaemaurices Jordan Mayes, Michael Jarome Randolph Jr., Roberto Carlos Bernal and Marquell Jovon Clay have each been charged with aggravated robbery and engaging in organized criminal activity.

Two additional suspects, Daquarius Esean Crockett and Steve Monroe Pickens Jr., were charged with theft of property valued between $750 and $2,500.

Investigators allege the group worked together to plan and carry out the armed robbery, while others allegedly assisted in selling or pawning the stolen property after the crime.

If convicted, the suspects could face significant prison time due to the seriousness of the charges, particularly those involving aggravated robbery and organized criminal activity.

The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities have not ruled out the possibility of additional charges or arrests.

As with all criminal cases, the allegations outlined by law enforcement have not been proven in court. All six defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
