A Life-Size Jason Statue Sits At The Bottom of a Lake In Minnesota

#KRITICIZM - Deep beneath the waters of a Minnesota lake sits a discovery that looks like it came straight out of a horror movie.
In 2013, scuba diver Curtis Lahr created an eerie underwater attraction when he placed a life-sized statue of Jason Voorhees, the infamous killer from the Friday the 13th film franchise, at the bottom of Louise Mine Pit in Minnesota.
The idea was inspired by Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives, where the character of Jason Voorhees is shown chained underwater. Lahr recreated that chilling image by lowering a statue approximately 120 feet below the surface, where it now rests on the lakebed.
The underwater figure was designed with Jason’s signature appearance, including his iconic hockey mask, machete, and chains, creating a haunting scene for adventurous divers who discover it below.
Over the years, the statue has slowly transformed as nature took over. Algae and underwater growth have begun covering parts of the figure, adding to the unsettling atmosphere and making it appear as though it has been sitting there for decades.
The submerged statue has become a unique attraction among divers and horror fans, combining movie nostalgia with the mystery of exploring what lies beneath the surface.
While it may look like something from a nightmare, the underwater Jason Voorhees is actually a carefully planned tribute to one of horror’s most recognizable characters — giving divers a real-life encounter with a piece of cinematic history hidden beneath the water.
